Fatty Liver Treatment – 5 Fat Reducing Remedies For Your Liver

Fatty liver treatment is a topic of much debate. It’s commonly accepted that there is no “cure” for fatty liver, but the best way to treat the disease is still open to opinion.

Various treatments and remedies continue to be tested, and some are showing positive results. Until science proves otherwise, fatty liver disease (FLD) will continue to be a rather asymptomatic disease in its early stages that can turn lethal in the form of cirrhosis, liver cancer, and liver failure if not kept in check.

Here are 5 fat reducing remedies commonly used to treat excess fat in the liver.

Epsom Salts

Epsom salts are sometimes recommended as a type of “liver flush” aimed at removing fats and toxins from liver tissues. Epsom salts work by solidifying cholesterol into small stones that are then excreted. This treatment can be done at home although some patients experience discomfort during excretion and occasionally feel sick afterward. Read the rest of this entry »

Factors to Consider in Developing a Plastic Surgery Plan

It is human nature to approach new people and experiences slowly and with caution. The same applies to medical tourism in general, and the medical tourist in particular. We recently facilitated a young woman’s treatment for a medical vacation tummy tuck and breast lift at a JCI – accredited hospital in San Jose, Costa Rica. San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and a bustling metropolis by any standards. Costa Ricans refer to themselves as Tico’s and are warm and friendly by nature. The literacy rate is one of the highest in the region with many people fluent in English. This particular patient considered Panama and Colombia as well, but ultimately decided on Costa Rica. Once the geographical region was selected we started our dialog with patient, hospitals and physicians in earnest.

Many patients who would formerly have considered a abdominal liposuction are opting for the “abdominoplasty”, or “tummy tuck”. It accomplishes the same objective with the additional benefit of tightening the underlying abdominal musculature, removing excess skin and fat while suturing the skin tautly. Interior sutures are of the melting variety and exterior closure is accomplished via medical staples.

Our client expressed concern with how the entire process would develop, and we conducted a number of family teleconferences to answer the typical but important questions. The entire process can be visualized as an inverted triangle. Read the rest of this entry »

Instant Back Pain Relief With Non-Invasive Massage Therapy

An NHS commissioned study recently found that as many as 8 out of every 10 people in the UK suffer from lower back pain. There are two types of back pain, specific back pain and non-specific back pain.

The former is usually attributed to an underlying pathological cause, such as an accident, or an illness. The latter is ascribed to many causes including stress, lifestyle and the adverse effects of bad posture. Both types of pain affect the quality of life of millions of people every year. With the capacity to become chronic both types of back pain are the reason millions of pounds are spent on drugs and expensive treatments which sometimes can result in the necessity for invasive procedures.

Yet, a new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine shows that when it comes to non-specific lower back pain two types of massage can provide instant, lasting pain relief in the majority of cases.

The type of massage which were tested in studies, using 401 men and women aged 20 to 65, were relaxation massage and structural massage. Relaxation massage is a type of massage therapy intended to help induce overall relaxation and well-being (examples include Therapeutic Massage and Swedish massage) while structural massage therapy targets soft tissue and concentrates on pain issues.
